Thirty-Ninth Man — Sequel
The Thirty-Ninth Man explained the initial conflict between the US Government and the Dakota Sioux that resulted in the hanging of thirty-eight Dakota men. The sequel brings the reader along when Native survivors of the US-Dakota War of 1862 move west to find a home with the Lakota Sioux and stay ahead of the westward expansion of the nation. They bear witness as further treaties are signed, treaties are broken; Red Cloud wins his war against the US Army; General Custer is defeated at the Little Bighorn; Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull die at the hands of their people on reservation land, and the massacre at Wounded Knee Creek marks the end of the free Sioux Nation.
The novel is now in editing to start the process of creating the finished product. It will be released in the spring of 2018. I plan on a giveaway and other incentives to encourage pre-ordering prior to the release date—so stay tuned.
