As we gather with our friends and family, we share gifts, we share memories, we share love, and we share hope for the future. Take a private moment to thank God for our gift of redemption, given freely by Christ who paid the price for the sins of all mankind.
Luke 19:10 — For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Luke's message addresses the Son of man in the present tense, He IS COME. Luke then tells us the reason for his coming, to save that which WAS LOST. The word—was—tells us it is in the past. Christ is with us today. Consistent with God's word, if we believe that Christ shed his blood and died and that he was buried and three days later rose from the dead, we are no longer lost. All we need is faith and belief that the gospel given by the RISEN CHRIST to Paul in 1Corinthians 15:1-4 is God's instruction for our salvation. Know it and believe it. It's that easy. You cannot earn salvation through works; it is given freely through faith alone.
Feel joy in your heart and have a very Merry Christmas.
