Rerelease of The Thirty-Ninth Man
Watch for the re-release of The Thirty-Ninth Man this month by Rainy River Press in preparation for next summer's release of the follow-up novel. The Thirty-Ninth Man marked the beginning of organized government military action against the Sioux and ended with the largest mass execution in U.S. history with the hanging of the thirty-eight Dakota men. This story explores the last minute pardon by Abraham Lincoln to save The Thirty-Ninth Man. The followup—yet to be titled—will culminate at Wounded Knee Creek, with the massacre that ended the Sioux Wars. The second book—Number 2—introduces the Lakota Sioux and the powerful chiefs important to that era. Like the first book, significant research uncovered things I never knew and were never taught in our history books. I will be dropping snippets on this blog as well as Facebook and Twitter to give you a little insight into the flow of Number 2.
